Not only the majority of top brass of Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) are used to involve in corrupt activities, the employees of the board have also become notorious for doing illegal practices. In latest episode of wrongdoings, Anura Weerasinghe, the coordinator of SLC National Development Centre (NDC) is reportedly involved in sending a Western Province U19 team to Japan, that too without getting the approval from the education ministry!
Not only this, as the SLC has also refused to give monetary support and it’s blessings due to the non approval of education ministry, Aruna Weerasinghe and his gang members are asking 1.50 Lakh rupees from the parents of each player! Accordingly, only those players have been included in the squad, whose parents have given the money!
“Anura Weerasinghe is also the secretary of western province. So, he is fully involved in this illegal tour” an insider at Western Province told Cricket Age.
More seriously, Aruna De Silva, Head of administration at SLC, is also scheduled to travel Japan as western province representative.
Apart from him, Shammi Gunasekera and SLC Media guy Sampath Thushara Dayawansa are also actively involved in this suspicious tour!
