With the Virat Kohli-led side already confirmed to go pink against Australia in their ongoing ICC World Test Championship campaign later this year, Ahmedabad’s new Motera Stadium has been named as the host venue for Day and Night Test match between England and India. Chairing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) council meeting on Sunday, Sourav Ganguly confirmed that India will play a day and night Test match against Australia (In 2020) and England (in 2021) respectively.
On Sunday, BCCI president Ganguly announced that India will play pink-ball Test matches with Australia and England. “Yes, India will play a Day/Night Test in Australia. A formal announcement will be made soon,” Ganguly said. In a report filed by Cricbuzz, it has been learned that the newly renovated stadium in Ahmedabad – the Motera has been named as the venue for India’s day and night Test meet against England next year.
Motera, also known as the Sardar Patel Stadium will become the world’s largest cricket stadium after its inauguration in February. The Motera has a seating capacity of 1,10,000 spectators and US President Donald Trump will be seen inaugurating the world largest cricket stadium on February 24.
