Javed Miandad blasts PSL show for ‘disrespectful impersonation’

Though Javed Miandad’s contribution to the game and Pakistani national side is immense and often considered priceless by many pundits, the former captain seems to be having a hard time receiving the desired treatment of a stalwart. The batting great was recently irked by a gimmick that was used in the build-up for the fifth edition of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). Miandad launched a scathing attack on his impersonator for a sports talk show dedicated to the PSL on his YouTube channel.

The former Pakistani skipper claimed that the ‘dummy-like’ character portraying him on national television is keen on disrespecting his legacy. “I have done so much for my country. I have always supported my country. The mimicry should be done in a decent manner, and my name should not be taken directly as it can promote a false image,” he said. Miandad also claimed that he is bound to take legal action if the sports talk show continues to make fun of his services for the Pakistani national side. “I will take legal measures if the attacks persist,” the former Pakistani batting maestro said.
