While the decision to call off the entire India-South Africa ODI series was inevitable, it seems like it has left West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee unimpressed with Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI.
Mamata Banerjee was quoted as saying in DNA, “Everything was alright with Sourav. But they should have told us a word, nothing else. When the match was scheduled to be held in Kolkata, at least the Kolkata Police should have been informed.”
She further added, “I am saying this with due respect. Why would not the state chief secretary or home secretary or police commissioner or someone else in the government be informed? How is that if you inform us after making a decision? We are not asking you to stop the match. But what would you have done had you been in this situation?”
All cricketing actions have taken a backseat with the rising concerns from the coronavirus outbreak across the globe. The much-awaited next edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has also come under the scanner and the BCCI has already postponed it to April 15.
As per reports, a shortened version of the IPL 13 seems on cards given the outbreak of the deadly virus.
