Indian captain Virat Kohli, the most followed Indian cricketer on social media, hasn’t disappointed his fans during lockdown time and has interacted with several cricketers on social media. Not only Indian cricketers, Kohli and his deputy in white-ball cricket, Rohit Sharma, also held a session with senior Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal on Facebook.
During the interaction, Tamim asked the Indian captain whether he would like to wish the people of Bangladesh for Eid. “Virat bhai, Eid is coming so would you like to wish the people of Bangladesh Eid Mubarak?” Tamim asked Kohli.
In his response, Kohli – who also boasts of a huge fan following across the globe, opined that he hopes everybody gets to spend time with their families during Eid. “I would like to wish everyone a happy Eid. Everyone is spending time with their families and we have to enjoy that. The time we are going through should be a memorable time spent with family. Also, I would like to wish that everyone can celebrate this Eid with a smile despite all the challenges,” Kohli said.
Kohli also appealed his fans to be united during these times as the entire world has been dealing with the deadly COVID-19 pandemic – that has claimed lakhs of lives across the globe.
“Hopefully things will become alright. Obviously, we will all pray together. I don’t think it’s a time where we look at each other differently and say things like ‘this is happening there, or that is happening there’ because everyone is at the same level during these times. Everyone is fighting it,” Kohli concluded.
