Kamalika Jayasekara, the powerful payment accountant of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has been made acting Head of Finance at Maitland Place, Cricket Age reliably learns.
The post was vacant at SLC since October 2018, when then Head Of Finance Piyal Nandana was suspended following an overseas transaction scandal. A close ally of board President Shammi Silva, Kamalika has worked at Green Lanka Shipping LTD in past, as Accountant. After her previous company faced bankruptcy, she moved to cricket!
“She has made a HOD’s cubicle in the finance department as per new designation. Now, she is attending every HOD’s meetings as well, over accountant Mahesh” an insider at SLC told Cricket Age.
Upon further inquiring, it learnt that now Kamalika is officially using her new designation in her correspondences. Cricket Age understands that in last few weeks, Kamalika has sent plenty of emails to the The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and her designation reads:

The decision of Kamalika’s promotion as acting head of finance has been taken in the back of controversial one and half year, in which SLC finance department’s alleged involvement in the overseas transactions had rocked cricket fraternity. That scandal has destroyed Sri Lanka Cricket’s credibility big time!
