England pacer Jofra Archer engaged in a heated conversation with former West Indies bowler Tino Best on Friday, after the end of day 3 of the first Test between the two sides. Best raised questions on Archer’s selection over veteran Stuart Broad in England’s playing XI for the first Test vs West Indies.
Best took to Twitter and pointed Archer’s bowling speed against West Indies on Day 3 of Southampton Test and wrote, “Honestly why Archer playing before Broad chaaaaa fair is fair tho, cause u have Wood bowling 90+, And he’s bowling the same pace as Broad, I have no problem with Broad being pissed #EngVsWI .. that’s not fair at all.”
Best’s comment did not go well with England pacer and Archer slammed former WI bowler as he replied, “With all this knowledge how are you not a coach yet?”
Best came up with an aggressive reply in turn as he tweeted: “Don’t address me personally Young man, the fact remains your bowling toothpaste and u haven’t bowled Quickly since ASHES, now go sleep and get some rest for WI to beat ya ball in the second innings bye Jorfa.”
Earlier, Stuart Broad had said ‘disappointment’ is an understatement after learning he was dropped for the 1st Test against West Indies that marks the return of international cricket after the enforced break due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Broad’s run of 51 successive home Test appearances came to end after stand-in captain Ben Stokes, who is leading England for the 1st time, decided to drop the veteran fast bowler and opted for ‘extra pace’ for the Southampton Test.
