Former India captain and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev, who underwent a successful angioplasty at a hospital in New Delhi on Friday, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and said that he was “on the road to recovery.”
Kapil Dev, on a complaint of chest pain, was brought to the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) on early Friday, October 23. Dev was taken to the emergency department at 1:00 am after which he was examined and an emergency ‘coronary Angioplasty surgery’ was performed on him immediately at late night.
Kapil Dev took to his official Twitter handle to express gratitude for the concern and support, saying he is on the road to recovery. “Thank you everyone for all the love and concern. I am overwhelmed with the good wishes and well on the road to recovery,” Dev tweeted.
Indian cricketing legends, starting from Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar to current captain Virat Kohli, have extended their warm wishes of recovery for India’s World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev, who underwent angioplasty.
Kapil Dev has actively been part of commentary gigs in the recent past. The cricket great has also been exploring golf and finding a lot of success at the sport, which has become his passion. As a senior amateur golfer, Kapil won the 60-64 individual age-category at AVT Champions Tour in Pune in September 2019.
