Due to a management blunder by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) incompetent and controversial Head Of Administration Aruna De Silva, all 3 tea girls at the Maitlad Place have become ‘Inactive’.
The SLC has 2 permanent and 1 contract basis tea girl and all directly comes under admin.
“While these girls are still in employment, on the recommendation of Aruna, few instant tea machines have been purchased by the board and placed. However, instead of these girls, the department peons have been asked to operate the machines and provide tea to respective departments, making tea girls inactive” an insider at SLC told Cricket Age.
Aruna, a loyal of former SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala, has always been notorious for such manipulative acts.
“These tea girls are being paid their full salaries, but being kept at the tea room. They service few meetings, that’s all” the SLC insider added.
Along with Aruna, questions raises against HR Manager Tanesh Dias also.
“These tea girls are innocent. It’s the stupidity of Aruna and HR. When the board is desperately trying to save money by cutting down, this sort of stupidity is undermine it’s efforts” the SLC insider added further.
