New Zealand to visit Pakistan for 2 WTC Tests and 3 ICC Super League ODIs in 2022-2023

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that ICC World Test Championship title holders New Zealand will visit Pakistan for the twin bilateral series next year. The Kane Williamson-led New Zealand side had abandoned their previous tour of Pakistan before the start of the white-ball series opener in Rawalpindi citing a security threat. New Zealand were earlier scheduled to tour Pakistan for a white-ball series in the build-up to the ICC World T20 2021.

To make up for the abandoned tour of the Asian nation, the Black Caps have agreed to visit Pakistan in December 2022 for the One Day International (ODI) and Test series. Taking to Twitter on Monday, the official social media handle of the PCB revealed that the New Zealand side is set to tour Pakistan twice in 2022 and 2023.

New Zealand will play two Tests matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship in the December-January window. Former world champions Pakistan will also play 3 ODIs with New Zealand in 2022-23 as part of the Future Tours Programme. New Zealand will then return to Pakistan in April 2023 and the Kiwis will play 10 white-ball matches against the hosts.
