The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has renewed Youth selection cordinators term for another year, Cricket Age reliably learns.
“As the existing youth selection committee did a commendable job in unearthing young talents, it was decided to give same members another term” a top SLC official told Cricket Age.
Gajaba Pitigala, one of the selector, however, has been removed from the panel, largely due to his ongoing accounts issues with Galle Cricket Club (GCC).
In last few years, Sri Lanka’s junior selectors have unearthed plethora of young talents, even from the outstations. However, their hard work and dedication couldn’t yield positive results, as the mistakes done by an Incompetent head coach Avishka Gunawardene destroyed Sri Lanka U19 team’s chances in the recently concluded Youth World Cup in West Indies.
