SunRisers Hyderabad head coach Tom Moody on Monday said he is elated to see their pacers T Natarajan and Bhuvneshwar Kumar return to peak fitness and deliver with the ball as he was highlighting the positives from their defeat to Lucknow Super Giants in their IPL 2022 match at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
T Natarajan shone with figures of 2/26, including the big wicket of KL Rahul, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave away only 25 runs in his 4-over spell even as Lucknow posted 169 in 20 overs.
Both Natarajan and Bhuvnehwar have had their fair share of injury concerns over the last 12 months. Natarajan did not play competitive cricket following last year’s IPL until he returned to play Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Tamil Nadu. Natarajan was ruled out of Vijay Hazare Trophy due to a knee injury soon after.
Despite the tidy spells from Bhuneshwar and Natarajan, SRH lost their 2nd successive game in IPL 2022, falling short of the 170-run target by 13 runs.
“Yeah look it was great to see Bhuvi (Bhuvneshwar Kumar) and Natu back to full fitness. And also firing the way they are.
“They both executed their skills really well. Gave ourselves a chance to chase down a total that we very thought was very getable, and we found ourselves in a position where we should’ve chased that total down, but unfortunately, we just didn’t finish as well as we would have liked,” Moody said,
