Hardik Pandya has been one of the biggest success stories of IPL 2022 so far. Leading an IPL franchise for the first time in his career, Hardik, it’s safe to say, has exceeded expectations. The star all-rounder has not only found form with the bat but has also led Gujarat Titans, one of the two new franchises, wonderfully well.
Not many had Gujarat Titans as their favourites at the start of the season but Hardik’s team has proved naysayers wrong, winning 8 of their 9 matches. It is safe to say Gujarat already have one leg in the play-offs and will look to seal a place in the top 2 from now.
“As a person, I always make sure that I don’t like to grow just as an individual. I like to grow with my teammates or people around me. That’s the reason of our success as well. Obviously, I might be the captain, but there is no hierarchy,” Pandya said after Gujarat beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets in Mumbai on April 30.
“Everyone is on the same path — one for all and all for one. That’s the approach which we’re carrying and that is the reason I think the boys feel they are as important as the captain.
“So yeah, obviously enjoying the new opportunity, fantastic bunch of people around. With results going our way, I can’t ask for a better start,” the 28-year-old added.
