Without Prithvi Shaw in their batting unit, Delhi Capitals haven’t looked as effective as they usually are. After the franchise scrapped through a victory against Punjab Kings, thanks to their bowling unit’s performance, questions over Shaw’s possible return for the playoffs surfaced again.
Rishabh Pan, speaking about the possibilities of having Shaw back into the team for the playoffs (if the franchise secures qualification), said that chances are 50-50.
“I think he’s 50-50. We’ll know in a few days’ time,” Rishabh Pant told broadcaster Star Sports.
Shaw has been out of action since the match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 01. He is said to be battling typhoid at the moment, and there’s no clear understanding over his potential return this season.
Delhi Capitals’ final league game of the season will be against bottom-table Mumbai Indians on May 21.
