South Africa captain Dean Elgar sounded warning to the English team ahead of their 2nd Test match at Manchester, scheduled to start on August 28. The opening batter backed his bowlers to get better as the tour progressed, which could potentially turn out to be a problem for the home team.
“I reckon they can get much better, they’re still pretty fresh,” Elgar told reporters on Wednesday.
The Lord’s wicket was favoured by the pace quartet of South Africa, who turned up the heat on England bowling at rapid pace. Anrich Nortje especially, was threatening, to the opposition team as he bowled at the excess of 90 miles per hour.
“The wicket assisted them at Lord’s, we must take that into account, but you have to put the ball in the right areas and they did that.
“Our bowlers are leading our pack at the moment and they’re extremely hungry for success. The competition among them is brilliant and the way they go about things is the most professional behaviour I’ve seen from fast bowlers.”
