Sri Lankan cricket legend Sanath Jayasuriya weighed in on the Virat Kohli and Babar Azam debate and said that the Indian star is his and his son’s favourite player.
The Pakistan skipper has been able to lead his side into the final of the ongoing Asia Cup, where they’re scheduled to take on Sri Lanka on Sunday. However, the tournament hasn’t been a great one for Azam as he struggled to get going in the past few matches.
As for Kohli, the tournament presented an opportunity to get back to form and the Indian star grabbed it with both hands. Apart from a rare failure against Sri Lanka in the Super Fours stage, the 33-year-old was in fine knick and even scored his maiden T20I hundred against Afghanistan on Thursday.
“I like Virat Kohli. He is my favorite player and also my son’s favorite player too,” said Jayasuriya.
