David Warner has confessed that it would be a privilege to get an opportunity to captain Australia.
Warner was handed a leadership ban after the infamous sandpaper-gate scandal. While Steven Smith, who was also found guilty in the incident, was given a similar ban, he returned to captaining the team during the Ashes.
Many have advocated for Warner’s ban to be revoked. However, Warner is calm about the situation and said, as quoted by News 18, that he is yet to hold conversations with Cricket Australia about the matter. He went on to confess that any opportunity to captain the national team would be a privilege.
“I haven’t had any conversations at all (yet). But look, I think at the end of the day any opportunity to captain would be a privilege,” Warner told Fox Sports.com.au.
