Pakistan have suffered another injury blow as express pacer Haris Rauf has been ruled out of the remainder of the Test series against England due to a thigh injury. Rauf will not be part of the 2nd and 3rd Tests, set to be played in Multan and Karachi.

Haris Rauf made his Test debut in the first Test, which England won in Rawalpindi on Monday. Rauf was initially not expected to take part in the Multan Test but a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) release said on Tuesday that he will no longer be part of the entire series due to a “grade II strain in his right quad”.

Notably, Rauf rolled over the ball while fielding on Day 1 of the Rawalpindi Test. He bowled 13 overs in the first innings but did not take the field during the 2nd innings.

“The scans and the subsequent assessment by the PCB medical staff concluded that the fast bowler suffered a grade-II strain,” a statement from PCB said.

“Haris will travel to Lahore where he will begin his rehabilitation at the National High-Performance Centre.”
