Cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has said that Rishabh Pant’s omission from India’s T20I squad was on the cards. Pant has been rested by the team management for India’s upcoming ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka.
Bhogle took to Twitter to say that Pant’s omission from the T20I squad was on the cards, insisting that Ishan Kishan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav make for a fabulous top-4.
“So, Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson are now ahead of Rishabh Pant in the T20 pecking order. It was on the cards. Ishan, Ruturaj, Samson and Sky is a fabulous top 4. Expect Rajat Patidar to compete with Hooda and Tripathi for the last batting spot,” Bhogle posted on Twitter.

India have named Hardik Pandya as the captain, in the absence of Rohit Sharma, who is still recovering from a dislocated thumb, an injury he copped in the 2nd ODI match in the tour of Bangladesh.
