In a significant development, Sri Lanka’s Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe has called all the controlling clubs of domestic circuit for a meeting today, Cricket Age Exclusively learns.
“All the controlling clubs with their own ground and infrastructure have been invited for the meeting” a top Ministry official told Cricket Age.
However, when Cricket Age Inquired, it emerged that out of 29 controlling clubs, presidents and secretaries of 20 clubs were invited for the meeting. Also some of the most prominent clubs, where Maitland Place’s officials occupies top posts, were not been called for the meeting!
“It’s good if Minister wants to Interact with clubs representatives. But, Ideally, he should have instructed Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) to arrange a meeting with the clubs, being the paternal body. That would have been more appropriate” a Sri Lanka Cricket expert told Cricket Age.
