Former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said that everyone would support the decision to drop KL Rahul to bring in Shubman Gill for the Indore Test on Wednesday.
Rahul had been going through a very rough patch in international cricket with his run in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, calling for him to be dropped from the lineup.
Speaking after the toss, as quoted by NDTV, Manjrekar said he was thinking whether the team management would show courage and do the right thing with Rahul.
He went on to say that India made the right call to bench him for the match and give Gill the chance and everyone would support the call.
“I was thinking whether the management will show courage and do the right thing with KL Rahul, who is a big name player and has played some important innings in the past. I think everyone supports the decision, so well done,”
