Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has shared a piece of advice for Gujarat Titans opening batter Shubman Gill, saying he should respect his form and shouldn’t let it go. Gill scored a half-century to guide GT to a five-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the opening match of IPL 2023.
Gill scored 63 runs off 36 balls as the defending champions got off to a winning start.
“Now it’s a matter of respecting your form. Come in, get a good start in the IPL. Get your feet off the ground. He is in good form, he has prepared well, the confidence is there. Now it’s just a matter of respecting the form, don’t let it go,” said De Villiers.
After guiding GT to a win in the opening match, he will turn his attention to Delhi Capitals, whom they will face at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on April 4.
