Roshan Abeysinghe, a marketing professional and an evergreen International Cricket commentator, is now doing local commentator as well. He was recently seen in commentary box during Sri Lanka and Bangladesh Women’s series on local Rupvahini TV channel.
“He never misses any commentary assignment, be it International or local. For every Sri Lanka match, he is there. For every LPL auction, he is there. No surprise that, at a time when IPL unleashes dozens of new commentators each year, Sri Lanka still rely on only Abeysinghe, Farveez Maharoof and Russell Arnold (a disgrace to commentary)” a cricket expert in the Island told Cricket Age.
Abeysinghe has also long been criticized for promoting his club Ragama CC players during LPL and International matches commentary.
Maharoof, a self proclaimed multi tasker, is meanwhile now shamelessly doing School big matches commentary, even though he is also a member of Technical Advisory Committee appointed by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe.
