Chinthaka Edirimane, probably the worst Incompetent employee at Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), has been accused of claiming fake allowance during home matches, Cricket Age reliably learns.
Edirimane handles domestic cricket under SLC’s powerful vice president Ravin Wickramratne, was last year made permanent employee with the blessings of top brass!
The accusations are that Correct Edirimane just goes outstations to watch the matches with SLC CEO Ashley De Silva and claims the allowances kept for working staff. According to sources, sometimes Edirimane also goes on Domestic programs, stays to watch international matches and collect allowances.
“As Incharge of domestic cricket, even if he goes, then he is eligible for subsistence, not the allowances kept for working people. Subsistence is less than the allowances given for working people” a sourcee told Cricket Age.
In March this year, Edirimane had come under the scanner for allegedly producing a suspicious report to Government Auditors over his Australia visit. Subsequently, he was summoned by the government auditors to Inquire about his Australia visit during the T20 World Cup, suspecting he, in reality, went there to see his daughter. In the report, which was submitted by him, it was said that he went to Australia for machinery (super soppers) Inspection. However, it emerged that no such company even exists!
