The Hyderabad Cricket Association has informed the BCCI that they may find it difficult to host World Cup matches on consecutive days and has asked for a tweak in the schedule.
The Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad will host the match between New Zealand and the Netherlands on October 9 and on the very next day, Sri Lanka will face Pakistan at the same venue.
The match was initially scheduled for October 12 but with the India-Pakistan clash at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad being rescheduled for October 14.
The schedule for the World Cup, which was initially released in June, has already seen a lot of tweaks and changes being made, mainly due to security concerns.
The game between the arch-rivals was re-scheduled due to the start of the Navratri festival.
Apart from the big clash, The International Cricket Council has also announced that 8 other matches also have been rescheduled in the tournament.
As it turned out, as many as three matches of Pakistan have been rescheduled, while two of India’s matches, including their last league game against the Netherlands, have also been rescheduled.
