Nepal captain Rohit Paudel has said that his team wants to get more exposure after almost pulled off a shocking win against South Africa on June 15, Saturday. The Asian side entered the contest with a chance of still making it to the Super 8s but needed a win against the Proteas. Paudel’s team bowled brilliantly as they restricted South Africa to a score of just 115 runs in their 20 overs.
The Nepal chase was on the right track before Tabraiz Shamsi turned the game on its head. But Nepal remained still in the hunt thanks to Aasif Shaikh’s 42 and pushed the game to the very last over. However, they ultimately fell short by just 1 run. Speaking after the loss, Paudel said he was proud of his side’s performance and batted and bowled well.
The Nepal skipper said that he realised the wicket was going to be slow and would assist the spinners.
“I think I am very proud of the unit, especially the way we bowled and batted. When we saw the wicket yesterday, we thought it would be on the slower side. When we were bowling I thought the wicket was helping the spinners so we carried on with the spinners,” said Paudel.
