BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Saturday shared glimpses of the new National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, stating that the ‘state-of-the-art facility’ will soon be inaugurated. Shah posted a few pictures of the academy’s new look and also mentioned the facilities it will be providing to the cricketers of the country.
Taking to his social media handle, Shah shared photos of a couple of cricket grounds and practice pitches and said the new facility will provide the players with the best possible environment to develop their skills.
As per Shah’s post, the new NCA facility will have three world-class cricket grounds, a total of 45 practice turfs, indoor pitches and much more.
“Very excited to announce that the @BCCI’s new National Cricket Academy (NCA) is almost complete and will be opening shortly in Bengaluru. The new NCA will feature three world-class playing grounds, 45 practice pitches, indoor cricket pitches, Olympic-size swimming pool and state-of-the-art training, recovery and sports science facilities,” Shah’s post read.
The facility will also have state-of-the-art training, recovery, and sports science facilities to provide comprehensive support to athletes, helping them maintain peak physical condition and recover efficiently from injuries. The inclusion of advanced sports science resources underscores the BCCI’s commitment to fostering a holistic development environment for cricketers.
“This initiative will help our nation’s current and future cricketers develop their skills in the best possible environment,” Shah further wrote.
Last year in November, the BCCI secretary had shared pictures showcasing the development at the new NCA building was in full flow with site clearance work underway.
The current NCA complex is inside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and is comparatively smaller in size. According to media reports, the new NCA complex will also have a 16,000 sq ft gym and 243 rooms including an open-air theatre. It will also have ancillary facilities such as a bank, pharmacy, hospital, courier, salon, ATM, cycling track, basketball, tennis and futsal court.
