Pat Cummins returns as captain as Australia announce ODI squad against Pakistan

Written by Vishwas Gupta

Australia captain Pat Cummins will warm up for the Test series against India with a 3-match ODI series against Pakistan. Australia announced their 14-member squad for the home series against Pakistan, which is scheduled to be played in November, just before the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Cummins has been resting since Australia’s T20 World Cup 2024 campaign. The fast bowler had a brief stint in the Major League Cricket this season and has been resting for the past two months after that.

Australia announced their squad early on Monday morning, 14 October, which saw a good mix of youth and experience. Talented Jake Fraser-McGurk has been given another chance to solidify his position in the ODI team, having played only one match (T20I) in the England series.

After the ODI series against Pakistan, Australia will take on India in a 5-match Test series – the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Australia also announced their squad for the tour games against India A, which is set to feature fast bowlers Scott Boland and Michael Neser, alongside young batting prodigy Sam Konstas.
