Hope Pakistan team would do justice to PCB’s renovation work: Mohammad Yousuf

Former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousuf hopes that the national team will play the same way in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has worked to renovate the stadiums. The Champions Trophy is all set to begin from February 19 as Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the series opener.

Ahead of the tournament, the PCB has worked hard to revamp the venues in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi to make them ready for the mega event as they are well-prepared to host an ICC event after 29 years in their country. Acknowledging the efforts of the PCB, Mohammad Yousuf wished that the Pakistan team would do justice to their work with their performances on the field.

“I am very excited like any Pakistani. After 29 years, Pakistan is hosting an ICC event. If Pakistan reaches the final, then they will play at home. I wish Pakistan cricket would play exactly the way the PCB has worked to renovate the stadiums. Kudos to the PCB for the way they renovated all the stadiums in six months,” Yousuf said on Samaa TV.

Pakistan have been placed in Group A alongside India, Bangladesh and New Zealand. After facing New Zealand in the opening game, the Mohammad Rizwan-led side will travel to Dubai to take on arch-rivals India on February 23 and will last lock horns with Bangladesh on February 27.
