Virat Kohli has climbed one place up to No.4 in the latest ICC ODI rankings for batters. The 36-year-old made the advancement after his splendid knock on Tuesday helped India qualify for the final of the Champions Trophy 2025. Kohli won the Player of the Match award against Australia in the first semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium after scoring 84 runs off 98 balls with the help of five fours.
Kohli is currently the third-highest run-scorer of the ongoing tournament, having notched 217 runs from four innings at an average of 72.33 and a strike-rate of 83.14. Earlier, Kohli reclaimed his spot in the top five after the match against Mohammad Rizwan’s Pakistan where he scored an unbeaten 100.
Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, dropped two places down to No.5 in the rankings. Henrich Klaasen went to No.3 while Shubman Gill and Babar Azam stayed at the No.1 and No.2 positions. Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran broke into the top 10 after climbing 13 places following his 177-run knock against Jos Buttler’s England.
