Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal said that no representative from their country deserved to be in the presentation ceremony during the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. No one from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was present on the podium during the prize distribution ceremony after the final despite them being the hosts of the tournament, which left many surprised.
The PCB has also filed a complaint to the ICC (International Cricket Council) seeking their clarification on the controversy. Recently, Kamran Akmal also shared his views on the matter and said that the ICC showed them the mirror. The former wicketkeeper batter also said that no one from Pakistan deserved to be there due to the appalling performance of their cricket team.
“The ICC showed us the mirror. The tournament’s director (Sumair) was there. He was available, and why wasn’t he in the ceremony? It is because we don’t deserve to be there. We are not playing good cricket. Minnow teams have shown us the mirror. No one discussed how Pakistan hosted the tournament. If we play such cricket, we will be treated like this. If you play for yourself, there will be no respect,” Akmal said on his Youtube Channel.
