IPL 2025 almost over for CSK: Kris Srikkanth

Written by Rohit Pawar

Former batter Kris Srikkanth was dejected after Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lost to the Mumbai Indians (MI) by nine wickets on Sunday, April 20 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. With the win, CSK’s hopes of making their way through to the playoffs took a massive hit. They now need to win at least five out of their remaining six games to have any chance of advancing to the next round.

Srikkanth, the member of the 1983 World Cup-winning squad, accepted that CSK’s road in IPL 2025 is more or less over. The veteran batter said that the Super Kings should try and express themselves for their remainder of their campaign. He also backed MI as a firm contender to lift the title.

Taking to X, Srikkanth wrote, “So this season is pretty much over for CSK! Well played MI it was treat to watch Rohit and Surya sending balls to every part of the ground! Only advice left for CSK to go out and express themselves in the rest of the games! Like I predicted its @mipaltan Cup to loose.”
