After exposing the alleged tie ups between N. Srinivasan and MS Dhoni, On Monday, Lalit Modi posted the details on his Instagram account, claiming that BCCI had lost around Rs 7,300 crore due to Srinivasan and Thakur.
“Srini and his stooges @ the #bcci cost Indian cricket in excess of Rs 3798 crore for cancelling #ChampionsLeague and throwing out #Kochi & #Sahara #franchises. #Srini cancelled watertight contract of #clt20 and let go $500 million of revenue for #indiancricket,” he wrote.
He said that the Board lost $125 million a year between 2015-2018 in TV rights after the CLT20 was cancelled.
The Champions League T20 was jointly owned by BCCI, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa. However, the tournament had to be scrapped after 2014, when the sixth edition was held.
