A day ahead of the historic one-off Test against Afghanistan at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, opener Shikhar Dhawan had aborted the practice session raising injury concern on Wednesday. However, things are yet to be clear about his fitness and eventual participation in the Test match, starting from today.
Dhawan started off with his practice session with some running between the wickets drill, although with some discomfort. The left-handed batsman was witnessed chatting with the fitness trainer Shankar Basu and physio Patrick Farhat. He didn’t participate in the extended net session which KL Rahul took part.
If Dhawan misses the match, Murali Vijay is the front runner for the opening slot alongside Rahul, while Karun will play at No.4 in place of Virat Kohli. There is another possibility with checking out Rahul at No. 3 and keeping Cheteshwar Pujara at No. 4.
