Even though, he is one of greatest fast bowler of modern cricket, Lasith Malinga has always been a team man, a player who thinks about his teammates, his country before him. When he bowls, he gives more than his 100 percent. Even though, he is a tailender, whenever he goes to bat, he gives more than his 100 percent.
So, obviously, when a politician, who is happens to be the sports minister of the country, publically criticised his teammates and called them ‘unfit’ to play cricket, Malinga protested. Sports minister criticised publically, so Malinga also did the same thing.
So, now he has slapped with a six month ban! As a great ambassador of his country, he apologized to his fans, via his twitter handle.
“Sorry to my family, friends and fans all over the world who disheartned by my ban of 6 month!!! ThankU all who support” he wrote.
But, he is not guilty. He has not done anything wrong. if a player gives all of his to his country, and an outsider labeled him, or his teammates ‘unfit’ then he will respond in the same way, as Malinga did.
There is no need to apologise Champion. You are a hero for millions of Cricket fans, and always will be!
