Ahead of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), defending champion Chennai Super Kings retained their core group but chose to part ways with three players.
The upcoming season of the IPL will not watch English pacer Mark Wood two uncapped domestic players Kanishk Seth and Kshitiz Sharma in the yellow jersey.
CSK defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 final to clinch a third title. Apart from them, only Mumbai Indians have three IPL trophies on their cabinet so far.
In IPL 2018, Wood had managed just one match for CSK before heading back home for England’s home series. In that match, he went wicketless and conceded 49 runs off his 4 overs. Meanwhile, the domestic duo of Seth and Sharma failed to make the cut into the playing XI throughout the tournament.
CSK have decided to retain Wood’s countryman David Willey, who was roped in last season as then injured Kedar Jadhav’s replacement.
The three-time IPL champions bid adieu to all the three cricketers in style. “Wishing all the #Yellove for the man who gave us the #DuDuDuRayudu and #EverywhereWeGo tunes! We’ll miss you #BrotherMark,” CSK wrote for Wood.
