Two employees of a tourist hotel in Dadalla, Galle, where the English cricketers are staying during the first test match between the two countries at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, have been tested positive with COVID-19.
The Galle District Health Services Director’s office said that the two employees, who work in the hotel kitchen are residents of Kapumulla and Weligama.
The duo was found infected with COVID-19 through PCR tests conducted yesterday among the hotel staff and the visiting English cricketers.
Earlier, England cricketer Moeen Ali was infected by the new UK variant of the coronavirus.
