Team India’s discarded allrounder Yuvraj Singh has reportedly asked for Compensation of RS. 3 Crore from BCCI. He was injured while representing India during the ICC Twenty20 World Cup and hence could not play the first seven matches for his IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad that season.
As per BCCI ruling, the board compensates the players for the amount which they lose by being absent from any game, due to an injury which they suffer while on national duty. The most prominent example is that of Mohammad Shami, who was paid an amount of Rs 2.2 Crore after he missed IPL 2015 due to an injury which he suffered during World Cup 2015.
“Yuvraj has written several letters to the BCCI officials and even his mother has been making the calls on his behalf. His Sunrisers teammate Ashish Nehra, who missed five games, has received his dues from the BCCI but surprisingly, Yuvraj’s case is in the limbo,” a BCCI official told.
Meanwhile, the Indian selectors will announce the India squad for the New Zealand series soon, and if Yuvraj’s reports state that he is fit, then he could make a comeback in ODI squad.
