Prior to much awaited t20 series between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, there are some untimely and unnecessary controversies taking place. During the third t20, scheduled to be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore, the international cricket will be returned to Pakistan, as Sri Lanka will become the first top cricket playing nation to play there, after the 2009 terror attack, interestingly against the same team!
But, now there are reports that Sri Lanka players don’t want to play in Pakistan. Actually, according the reports, forty players signed a letter and sent it to SLC, mentioning their refusal to play in Lahore t20.
Though, when Cricket Age investigated entire fiasco, some interesting facts came out.
As per Cricket Age investigation of the entire fiasco, Only 28 players have signed on the letter.
More interestingly, out of these 28 players, four players doesn’t play even ODI Cricket, let alone t20 Cricket.
Out of the remaining 24 players, three players are nowhere close to being recalled by selectors for any format.
Now, out of the remaining 21 players, many players are junior players, who are still trying to establish themselves in the team.
Also, Although two prominent players have signed the letter, but they have given subsequent consent letters to SLC as well.
Clearly, almost all the players want to go Pakistan. Want to play in Lahore and want to support the returning of international cricket in the country, which the right way!
