Silverhood’s arrival as Head Coach has certainly put Sri Lanka national team on the right path! Under his guidance, Sri Lanka recently outplayed mighty Australians and won the ODI series 3-2, a feat achieved after 30 years! More Importantly, in every match, Sri Lanka unearthed new match winners like Charith Asalanka, Pathum Nissanka and Chamika Karunaratne who strengthened their position in World Cricket with some breathtaking performances!
That, Silverhood’s authority on the Sri Lanka team was on display once again, when recently Consultant Coach Mahela Jayawardene tried to talk to players. To respond this, Silverhood firmly emphasized on a proper discussion with former Sri Lanka captain before moving forward!
“After 2nd ODI, Mahela wanted to talk to the players. However, Mr. Silverhood politely replied him that he has put everything in order and thus would like to have a proper discussion with Mahela before his talk with players” a team Insider told Cricket Age.
In the beginning of the year, Mahela was appointed consultant coach of Sri Lanka men’s senior team, as well as U19 and A team for a period of one year!
