The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Sunday postponed Lanka Premier League (LPL) due to the ongoing political unrest in the country.
“The board announces that the Lanka Premier League 2022 scheduled to be held from 01 to 21 August, 2022 will be postponed with Immediate effect” a SLC press release stated.
The decision was taken by the board following a request made by the Innovative Production group FZE (IPG), the rights holder of the LPL, which cited that the current ongoing crisis in the country is not conducive to host the tournament.
