Former India coach Ravi Shastri has claimed that his time in coaching has come to an end and that he will be viewing the game and enjoying it from the outside.
Shastri oversaw an incredible period in Indian cricket as he made the team strong enough to compete for top honours and be a challenging unit in the Test arena.
India won back-to-back Test series in Australia during the former all-rounder’s time as the coach and also claimed series wins all over the globe. The team also reached the final of the inaugural Test Championship as well.
The former India all-rounder stepped down from the post of India coach after the team’s early exit from last year’s T20 World Cup.
“Mera coaching ka hisaab khatham ho gaya (My time with coaching has come to an end). Saath saal jitna karna tha, mein kar liya (For seven years, I have done enough). If I’m doing some coaching, it will be at the grassroots level, for which I have a company that is doing it. I will participate in that. Otherwise, my time as a coach has come to an end. Now I will view the game from far away and enjoy it,” said Shastri.
