Charith Senanayake, former national team manager, has been appointed Sri Lanka A Team Manager for the home series against England in January next year, Cricket Age reliably learns.
Sri Lanka A is scheduled to play two 4-day and three 50 Overs matches against tourist England A side. Senanayake’s appointment was approved during Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) last ExCo meeting.
“He (Senanayake) has been appointed only for this series” a top SLC official told Cricket Age.
This is Senanayake’s second high profile assignment, after he bagged Lanka Premier League (LPL) Technical Committee Chairman post few weeks ago.
Once ICC suspected Avishka Gunawardene is overseeing Sri Lanka A team as head coach! Since last few months, Avishka had stopped reporting at High Performance Centre (HPC) at Khetterma. However, after Cricket Age published story on November 12, now he is going on daily basis!
