Even though Former team India captain MS Dhoni has retired from the test cricket, but he still keep an eye on all the happenings of the longer format. On Thursday, Dhoni inspected Eden Garden pitch and gave his valuable suggestions to pitch curator.
Dhoni was in the city for a commercial shoot with another Legendary Kapil Dev. In the morning session, Dhoni was seen talking to curator Sujan Mukherjee, checking the Eden Gardens strip that will host the first Test between India and Sri Lanka from November 16-20.
“Dhoni really appreciated the pitch preparation and wished us for the Test match,” Mukherjee said.
Dhoni retired from test cricket in 2014, during the Australian tour. He played 90 Test matches for India, scoring 4876 runs in a career that lasted for almost ten years in the longer format.
After playing the first Test in Kolkata from November 16-20, the teams move to Nagpur for the second, which starts on November 24. The final Test will be played in Delhi between December 2-6.
The last time Sri Lanka played test matches in India was seven years back in 2009, a three-match series, that they lost 0-2. This time around, Sri Lanka to play 3 tests, 3 ODI’s and 3 T20s.
