The Ahmedabad wicket is going to get slower and scoring runs will get much more difficult, said Dinesh Karthik ahead of Day 2 of the final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Karthik further added that it was going to be a hard day’s toil for the bowlers as they look to control the Australian innings at Ahmedabad.
Australia finished at 255/4 at the end of Day 1 of the fourth Test match of the series, where they had to be patient on the wicket that offered low bounce. Karthik said that the left-arm spinners might find some variation due to a small patch of grass on the wicket, that might have the odd-ball straightened and affect LBWs.
Karthik summed up his report by saying that it will be a hard grind for the bowlers out there on Day 2.
Earlier, the India keeper-batter had said on Cricbuzz that he would like for India to wrap Australia inside 360 runs, but was aware that Australia had the ability to pile on a lot more runs than that. Australia finished with Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green in the crease at the end of Day 1 with both batters looking comfortable in the crease.
