Shubman Gill hit a steady hundred on Day 3 of the 4th and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Ahmedabad. Gill notched up his 2nd Test hundred on Saturday and his first against Australia in the longest format of the game when he went past the 3-figure score in the second session.
Gill had missed out on a well-deserved hundred against Australia in the iconic Gabba Test of 2021 when he fell 9 runs short of the 3-figure score in India’s stunning victory. However, he ended his long wait for a Test hundred in December last year against Australia.
After warming the benches in the first two Tests, Gill got off to an ordinary start in the ongoing Test series, scoring 21 and 5 in the Indore Test, which India lost by 9 runs.
However, on a good batting pitch in Ahmedabad, Gill made the most of the conditions, scoring an 194-ball 100. It was an innings of high quality from the 23-year-old as Gill mixed aggression with caution during the course of his long knock in Ahmedabad.
