Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez announced his resignation from the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Technical Committee ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Misbah-ul-Haq, Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Mohammad Hafeez are members of the committee, which reports directly to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Zaka Ashraf and provides suggestions for the team’s improvement.
Hafeez announced his decision to leave the committee via his official X handle on Thursday. The former cricketer thanked Zaka Ashraf for the opportunity and stated that he would be available whenever his services were needed in the future.
Hafeez stated: “I decided to leave Pakistan cricket technical committee. I served as honorary member. I would like to thank Zaka Ashraf sb for giving me this opportunity. I m always available whenever Zaka Ashraf sb needs my honest suggestions for Pakistan cricket. My best wishes for Pakistan cricket as always. Pakistan Zindabad.”
Hafeez’s decision to leave the committee comes after just under two months on the job. He also attended PCB’s meeting, presided over by Zaka Ashraf, to assess the performance of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team in the ACC Asia Cup 2023.The PCB held a meeting on Thursday (September 21) to discuss their team’s performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023.
Pakistan were eliminated from the Super 4 stage of the tournament after back-to-back defeats to India and Sri Lanka.
