With a view to develop School Cricket in Sri Lanka, a meeting was held at presidential secretariat on January 17 to commence the process of implementing budget allocations, Cricket Age reliably learns.
The meeting was presided over by the President Ranil Wickramasinghe secretary.
During the budget allocations 2024, Wickramasinghe had allocated SLR 1.5 Billion to develop Sri Lanka School Cricket.
During the meeting, President secretary propossed to appoint a 8 member committee, comprising of members from the private sector, Sri Lanka Cricket and government sector to prepare an action plan to ensure smooth implementation of the budget proposal.
While Royal College Principal and Sri Lanka School Cricket Association president Thilak Wasthuhewa will chair the committee, Sri Lanka Cricket treasure Sujeewa Godaliyadda and Galle Cricket Club former president Kumar Samarasinghe are also the notable members of the committee.
