Former Sri Lanka allrounder Thisara Perera has moved out of his franchise Jaffna ahead of the fifth edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), Cricket Age Exclusively learns. Thisara’s decision came in the wake of a significant management change at the franchise.
Thisara Is most successful captain in LPL since it’s Inception in 2020 with three titles.
According to sources, In recent weeks, Jaffna, owned by Lyca Group, went through the major management changes. Following the development, Thisara decided to explore his trade with new franchise. Cricket Age understands that ahead of the LPL auction, the hard-hitting allrounder is in talks with the other franchisees.
The 5th edition of the LPL will be held from July 1st to 21st. The auction date will be announced in due course.
