It has been raining runs for Team India’s stand in captain Rohit Sharma this year, and he had little hesitation in calling 2017 the “best year” of his decade-old international career.
Rohit, who smashed his third double hundred in ODIs during the second match against Sri Lanka at Mohali, has scored seven hundreds this year (six in ODIs and one in Tests) marking a successful return to international cricket following a thigh surgery last November.
Sri Lanka Legend Kumar Sangakkara also lavished praise on the magnificent right handed batsman.
“Third double hundred? In ODI’s? Ridiculous. What a player @ImRo45 is. Incredible performance” he wrote on his twitter handle.
Sangakkara, hailed one of the greatest batsman of modern era, has been currently playing in T10 league in UAE.
